Richard is our in house structural masonry repairs specialist. He works on all types of project, from damp proofing to structural and masonry repairs. He is Married to Sue and lives with her in Leeds, with their two sons, George and Harry. Richard has a wealth of construction experience, gained since entering the building industry in his late teens. Over the years he’s worked in roofing and groundwork before concentrating on brickwork.
Asked what he likes best he explained “I really enjoy working on the structural repair side of things and this is something I want to learn more about”. Within weeks of joining us he was instrumental in repairing fractured and bulging masonry on a landmark hotel in Leeds and he did a great job. Richard is conscientious and enthusiastic. On a recent course he is enrolled on, our MD Bryan Hindle received a call from the tutor “You’ve got a good one there Bryan” he said “Listens and asks questions all the time, he’ll go places, that one”. This is music to our ears, as personal and staff development is a key policy for us.
When not at work Richard enjoys family life and also likes to go fishing in good weather and play golf too.
He fits right in with Yorkshire’s leading wall tie and structural repair specialists as he confirms “All the lad’s here are great and are on-hand to help you and show you how things should be done. The team spirit is marvelous from office through to site. I’m really happy to be part of the Brick-Tie Team”.
Richard’s career with Brick-Tie goes from strength to strength. He has not only completed his NVQ level 2 diploma in “Insulation and building treatments (Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing)”, but won the PCA apprentice of the year 2018 too. Well done Richard.
He is only the ninth person in the country to be accepted onto the National Register of professional biocide users. This scheme; started and maintained by the Property Care Association, registers all those technicians who are tested via examination and found competent to apply and dispose of chemical treatments in buildings. So whether he is spraying a loft for woodworm infestation or dry rot in a cellar, you can be sure you and your family are in safe hands.
