It was all smiles at the National Space Centre when Brick-Tie Preservation was announced as the winners of the Property Care Association award for training and staff development.

The PCA is the only recognised trade body for damp proofing, timber treatment and wall tie specialists; setting standards, writing codes of practice and supervising the cream of the industry.

Driving up standards is what the PCA are about so each year they ask an independent group of built environment judges to look at submissions from members, who compete for the awards by showcasing what they have achieved in the past year.

We have won this year’s award, for our training and staff development, which is close to our hearts as it underpins every aspect of our service. This is the third time in four years that we’ve been recognised and as competition gets harder for these nationally recognised awards, standards rise.

The judges were glowing in their praise of our commitment to training right through the firm; top to bottom. They were also surprised that a firm of our size could maintain Investors In People accreditation and that we also mentor other PCA members, sharing our management methods and training plans.

Steve Hodgson is the Chief Executive Officer of the PCA and this year said  “Brick-Tie has impressed us with not only their mentoring of others but how they undertake industry testing. They are a brilliant company and I am delighted they have been rewarded for a third time in this category.”

Our MD Bryan Hindle is chuffed of course and says “Those clients seeking great service and quality damp proofing, wall ties or structural work need to know that behind claims made on adverts and web sites, there really are trained and committed individuals waiting to serve; the award goes a long way to reassuring potential customers that we really do try very hard to do things right.”

And of his team, “I am very lucky to head up such a fantastic group. All the staff are enthusiastic and very proud of themselves, as they ought to be –  Brilliant!”
