For the past three months team leader Bryan Hindle has had more on his mind than woodworm, wall tie corrosion and rising damp. He’s been training hard for the 100 mile cycling event – The Prudential London Surrey 100.
His target was to raise £600 for The Samaritans. To date the pot stands at just over £1200 so Bryan and The Samaritans are delighted.
The event was watched on TV by millions and took in London landmarks and the Surrey hills. To get ready Bryan has been riding up Yorkshire’s steepest hills, including Otley Chevin, Poole Bank and The Cow and Calf. It paid off as he managed the 100 mile course in an official time of seven hours four minutes.
Bryan really enjoyed himself… “The event was a delight and the people of London and Surrey came out in force, cheering us along in the sunshine… ace”
“Finishing on the Mall right before Buckingham Palace was so special and I had a day I’ll never forget. Raising double my target is the icing on the cake and my thanks go to my family, team members, professional contacts, fellow Property Care Association members, workmates and suppliers, who have supported me from the start”
The Samaritans help thousands of people through hard times every year and have saved the lives of many suicidal people of all ages, genders and ethnic groups – you can help further by visiting Bryan’s virginmoneygiving page.
