Bradford was the venue for the recent Property Care Association northern area meeting.

The Property Care Association is the only recognised trade body for qualified specialists in damp proofing, timber treatment and structural waterproofing. The PCA also covers wall tie replacement and structural repairs of buildings.

Only pre-vetted companies like Brick-Tie Preservation are eligible for membership and they have to sign up to a strict code of ethics and abide by PCA rules.

We take our membership seriously and on Wednesday our MD Bryan Hindle and development manager Sean Tristram-Jones, took time out to attend the meeting.

The day was organised by PCA Stephen Hodgson and his team to get some great training and continuing professional development time in for members.

Nuaire, design and manufacture Positive Input Ventilation systems and were on hand to provide us with the very latest on the use (and misuse), of PIV systems. We have used Nuaire PIV systems for years and already have great feedback from clients who have had their house cleared of black mould problems, via installation of a DryMaster or FlatMaster system by our team. Bryan has blogged on the effects via preservationexpert where detailed technical data is available.

Details of the wide range of insurance products designed to protect client guarantees were presented in details and the CITB were also on hand to outline the latest industry leading training packages available to members.

Bryan and Sean came back from Bradford with more knowledge to help us help our customers get rid of mould in their homes and also protect them from harm.

We were joined at the meeting by new PCA member company Crown Preservation?s director David Holdsworth CSRT and by new members TimberTech.

Our good friends Andrew and Jacki Shaw of Shaw Preservation looked in too, taking a break from touring northern England. Now that’s dedication!

The PCA is going from strength to strength under the guidance of Stephen Hodgson and we see our membership as crucial, in meeting our mission to be the company the best customers want to do business with and the employer the best people want to work with.
