Woodworm Treatment Leeds and Yorkshire

Woodworm Treatment

Dead Furniture Beetle
Wood Boring Weevill
This is a very severe and active infestation by The Common Furniture Beetle Anobium punctatum. This was invisible from above, because the kitchen floor had a hardboard overlay, which had been used to level the floor for tiling. Only when we gained access during a pre-purchase timber survey, did the full extent of the trouble become obvious. The floorboards and joists are eaten through and the whole floor had to be replaced. The remaining floors in the property were treated against lighter infestations. Our qualified technicians used Safeguard’s proven micro-emulsion ‘SoluGuard’..

‘Woodworm’ infestation is a real problem in tens of thousands of houses and can cause severe structural breakdown of timbers, like floors, roofs, staircases and timber frame walls. Identifying the problem and the most appropriate treatment requires knowledge and experience. ‘Woodworm’ holes in timber don’t necessarily require treatment every time; the infestation could be inactive, may have been previously treated or be by one of the many insect species which don’t cause a structural problem. This is where an expert opinion is vital.
