Wall Tie and Structural Surveys Leeds and Yorkshire
Wall Tie and Structural Surveys
Rusting wall ties are present in hundreds of thousands of houses. Hidden from view, they can rust through, sometimes failing in strong winds without warning. Or they may cause unsightly cracking, to render, pebble-dash or brickwork.
BT Preservation is a trading name of Brick-Tie Limited, which is the best known and longest established wall tie specialist in Yorkshire. We’ve installed hundreds of thousands of wall ties over a twenty three year period, so nobody has more experience than our technicians.
Not all cavity wall ties rust though and surprisingly, two houses which look identical from outside and are the same age may have completely different standards of tie in them. A proper survey is the only way the level of corrosion, if any, can be discovered.
With thousands of surveys already done, we’ve proven our skill and integrity again and again. Our written reports, containing digital images of the ties, as seen through the surveyor’s boroscope, carry the credibility and the detail this important defect demands.
Don’t be mislead by recent reductions in some mortgage lender’s priorities – survey reports which hint at a problem and advise house buyers to have ties looked at, rather than stressing that the ties need checking, dangerously underestimate the potential costs, should failure occur. The advice may cover the surveyor against a claim for negligence, but will not cover the buyer, if the house walls bulge or need repairs later.
Houses and other buildings with cavity walls built before 1981 should always be correctly checked by a competent specialist in accordance with national standards – that’s where we come in. Contact us to arrange a survey.
